Students at Ackerman were busy spring term learning aspects of architectural design and structural engineering and
implementing their knowledge by drawing plans, building models, and now having hands
on experience constructing a large arbor in Ackerman's courtyard.
The Ackerman Academy students partnered
together in drawing up and building mini models that were viewed and judged by
Canby School District's Superintendent Dr. John Steach and Facilities Manager Wayne Layman. The top three models were chosen and their
designs were merged together in creating the arbor you see above.
It was amazing watching the progress of this
project, and we couldn't be more proud of our high school students.
